The program consists of two intense sprints, each spanning a two week timeframe. In the first one, I get as clear a picture of you and your situation. This includes:
- One intake questionnaire
- One intake meeting (90 min) to deep-dive into the complexity
- Follow up refinement questions via email
- A second meeting to discuss system solutions, reframes, tools and the path forward (60 min)
- A short mapping document of you, the system we are building and next steps.Sprint two is you spending time with and implementing the analysis and our solution. This concludes in a 30 min feedback & tweaking meeting. The 2-sprint program has a clearly defined solution and end point. If you would like to continue working with me, either expanding this topic or something different, you can continue with another sprint cycle or 1:1 sessions.

Because I want the full scope of the complexity. Having worked with therapists and coaches myself, It always felt like it takes several sessions for them to start to understand, or just at the end of the hour we are getting to the crux, with little time left for the 'and now'. Hourly work restricts time for complexitiy, the sprint gives me the chance to deep dive properly. If the elements within the sprint outlined above are not enough, we simply add more. I mean it: Bring me your complexity, this is where I thrive! This methodology is inspired by my work in business process consulting: Workshop, refinement (back and forth), implement.
It allows us enough depth and understanding so that the solution we build together is a real fit.

The two-sprint program is $900 USD.
Follow-up sessions are available for past clients as needed.Periods of transition can place temporary strain on finances. Where needed, I offer a flexible payment arrangement: 50% payable upfront, with the remaining 50% due once you are back on solid footing. This reflects my confidence in the process we build together and my commitment to supporting you through change without adding unnecessary pressure.
Hello! I am Rachel Baker, PhD, from Basel Switzerland. If you are reading this, you probably are intrigued by the 2-sprint program and are now trying to see if we would fit on a personal level. How I think, learn, work and live:
1. Curiosity. It always starts with a question. Something doesn’t sit right, or something intrigues me—and that’s the spark.2. Creativity. Then I map the space: What could the answers be? Where are the challenges? This is where my divergent thinking lives.3. Organization & planning. I turn ideas into structure. I build a system that can actually survive contact with reality.4. Values check. I test it against what I care about: Does this align with fairness? With sustainability? With the kind of world I want to contribute to?5. Execution. I used to be disorganized, chaotic, overwhelmed, late. I now use Notion to organize my life. I forget nothing, am early with any deadline, and have a clear overview of all aspects of my life. Still, for big ideas, this is the least used step. Many ideas simply do not make it this far.Other things about my life: I am keen scuba diver - worked as an instructor and scientific diver. I am a mother, and a wife. We live in Iceland with two beautiful cocolate labs. We move every 2-3 years. I have a scientific bachelor and engineering doctorate, working on my master thesis in evaluation currently. I deeply care about people and the environment, I truely believe we are one.

FAQ
1. What is Life System Coaching?
Life System Coaching is a structured, sprint-based coaching process that helps you design practical systems for navigating complex life situations. Rather than focusing on mindset or motivation alone, we create concrete structures — decision frameworks, planning rhythms, and operational tools — that reduce overwhelm and increase clarity.2. How is this different from traditional life coaching?
Traditional life coaching often focuses on goals, mindset shifts, and accountability. Life System Coaching focuses on structural design — building external systems that support how you actually think and function.
This approach is especially effective for people who feel:
- Overstimulated by too many moving parts
- Stuck in repeated chaos cycles
- Unsupported by generic productivity systems3. Is this therapy?
No. This is not therapy, mental health treatment, or crisis intervention.
Life System Coaching focuses on practical system design and structural clarity. If you are navigating trauma, acute mental health concerns, or require clinical support, working with a licensed therapist is more appropriate.4. Who is this best suited for?
This work is especially helpful for:
- Neurodivergent individuals who struggle with standard productivity systems
- New or expecting parents navigating complexity
- Professionals in major transitions (career shifts, relocation, restructuring)
- People who are high-capacity but overwhelmed
- If you feel intelligent but disorganized under pressure, this may be a good fit.5. What will I walk away with after a sprint?
You will leave with:
- A clear structural map of your current situation
- A personalized life system framework
- Defined decision filters
- A practical implementation plan that you have already started to implement
- Tools or templates tailored to your context
The goal is that you can continue independently after the sprint.6. How does the sprint format work?
Each sprint includes:
- A deep-dive intake session
- Structured mapping and system design
- Focused working sessions
- A final consolidation meeting
Sprints are designed to be intensive but time-bounded, reducing long-term dependency.7. How long does it take to see results?
Tangible structural changes typically begin during the second sprint.
The full integration of a new system depends on the complexity of your situation and your implementation pace.8. What if I struggle with consistency or follow-through?
That is precisely why systems matter. We design structures that reduce reliance on willpower. The goal is not perfect discipline — it is environmental and structural alignment.9. Do you offer ongoing coaching?
Life System Coaching is designed to be modular and sprint-based. Follow-up sprints can be booked as needed, but the intention is not long-term open-ended coaching unless structurally required.10. Is this suitable for neurodivergent clients?
Yes. The process explicitly accounts for differences in executive function, processing speed, energy regulation, and sensory load.
Systems are designed to fit how your brain works — not the other way around.11. What is your background?
I have a background in complex systems and engineering, combined with experience in structured problem solving and coaching. My work integrates systemic thinking with human-centered design.12. What if I don’t know exactly what I need?
That is common. Many clients begin with a vague sense of overwhelm. The intake questionnaire and first session clarifies the true structural bottlenecks and define the focus of the sprint.13. Why is this priced the way it is?
This is not ongoing talk-based coaching. It is a structured intervention requiring preparation, analysis, and customized system design. The pricing reflects focused, high-impact work delivered in a condensed timeframe.14. Is this covered by insurance?
Life System Coaching is generally not covered by health insurance, as it is a coaching service rather than medical or therapeutic treatment. However, for becoming parents insured through the Foreign Service Benefit Plan, my services may be covered under postnatal doula benefits when booked in that capacity.
If you are insured through FSBP and are becoming parents, please contact me prior to booking so we can ensure services are structured and documented appropriately for reimbursement.15. What if I’ve tried planners, Notion, GTD, etc.?
Most productivity systems assume a standardized cognitive style. Life System Coaching designs a system specific to your context, cognitive profile, and life phase.16. What if I’m currently in burnout?
If you are in acute burnout requiring medical or therapeutic intervention, that should come first. If you are in functional overwhelm and need structural relief, this can be helpful.17. Do you use AI in your work?
Yes. I use AI tools selectively to reduce repetitive administrative work and as a structured sparring partner during system design.
AI helps streamline drafting, mapping, and organizing information. However, all analysis, judgment, and system architecture decisions are made by me. AI supports the process, it does not replace professional expertise or individualized thinking.
Client information is handled with discretion and professional care.18. Finally, what's up with the ocean theme?
All the images on this site I took. They all include the ocean because it reflects how I see people and systems. I understand the ocean and how its currents and ecosystems work, even if I can’t name every fish. What matters to me is the structure, the patterns, the connections beneath the surface.
I see people the same way. We are complex, dynamic, and full of hidden depth. I think of myself as a piece of shoreline: I can’t tell the ocean how to behave, but I can guide its currents. In doing so, I help interactions flow more clearly and create models for how people and systems can connect and work together.
